Alain Turpault is a French photographer born in Périgueux in 1954.

He prefers working on black and white film.

Since the 90s Alain Turpault lives between Paris and Mali.

In 2000 he received the prize monograph from the Editions Filigranes for his book Rest masks which was produced with the Chadian writer Koulsy Lamko. With the series Moon's children, Alain Turpault refers to the “martyr” of albino children protected by the Foundation  of singer Salif Keita.

 

This series was presented at the Bamako Festival and the photos are available at Berthet-Aittouarès gallery. 

Alain Turpault received the Roger-Pic Prize in 2006 for his series entitled Isolated storm are exploding all the relief
