The artists of the exhibition:

Laszlo Horvath

Laszlo Horvath is a French director - photographer of Hungarian origin. He is the author of several creative documentaries, notably on Jacques Copeau, Roger Martin du Gard, Odile Duboc, and Véra Molnar.

For ten years he has devoted himself to photography.

The photographs brought together in this exhibition correspond to a particular moment in the life of Laszlo Horvath: of limited freedom, of loneliness imposed by the Containment. The photographer decided to make his own this constraint, transforming through his photographs the inner world of the apartment into a real "poetics of space" (...) More than trying to restore objects, the photographer seeks the purity of a line, the beauty of a reflection, without using any artifice.

Light is decisive in our perception of this closed world. It reveals objects, the vibrating qualities of a material, hollows out space, accentuates a feeling of derealization. Horvath refuses to engage in a cold and objective transcription of reality, he transmits to us the poetic emotion which exists in the latent state of everything. (...) He waits for the moment when the rays of light pass delicately at an angle to accentuate the angular design of the frames hung on a wall, or to reveal the fine veins of a green plant.

His images are imbued with mystery and silent beauty. He also transmits to us a reflection on space, a meditation on time: we feel in contact with the photographs of this place set back from the world, a dilation of time where the banal and the ordinary fall into the imagination.
