Approche Art Fair
A new era dawned with the Approche art fair, founded and directed by Emilia Guenardi. The ninth edition remains true to the reasons behind its creation—experimentation with image—and its location—Le Molière, a mansion near the Palais Royal. The carefully curated selection of works by contemporary artists, each represented by a gallery or other type of organization, such as this year's screen printing studio Tchikebe in Marseille, brings together 17 artists. The works are recent, including those by English artist Julie Cockburn (Hopstreet Gallery, Brussels), renowned for her embroideries and collages on old images, or previously unseen, such as Isabelle Ehrler's landscapes encrusted with minerals (Galerie 127, Montreuil), the posthumous portraits by Vincent Lemaire (Galerie Dix9), and the “Elegia” series by Italian artist Pietro Bologna (Lab 1930 - Fotografia contemporanea), a series of printing plates with abstract images created using different printing processes. Other highlights include the salon's first-ever partnership with the PhotoSaintGermain festival, directed by Aurélia Marcadier, which is presenting Léonard Bourgois Beaulieu's latest experiments at the Molière, represented by the Galerie du Jour.
Approche supports “Sixtine de Thé” at the National Institute for Young Blind People - Louis Braille, the festival's new venue, whose 14th edition, which began on November 6, once again offers a variety of events organized by galleries, cultural centers, bookstores, and institutions in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood and surrounding areas, as well as festival productions and co-productions, including exhibitions on the Etienne Jules Marey (1830-1904) at the Museum of the History of Medicine, Anne Lise Broyer presented by the Army Museum at the town hall of the 7th arrondissement, Marion Poussier at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture Paris-Malaquais, and Terri Weifenbach at the Musée National Eugène Delacroix. Emilio Azevedo taking over the Maison Auguste Comte. Florence Henri at the Le Minotaure gallery, Gaston Paris at the Roger-Viollet gallery, and Letizia Battaglia - François Zecchin at the Berthet-Aittouarès gallery are, for their part, great classics of photography.
